On a recent visit to Bristol, I was enthralled to stumble across an ‘old fashion pub’ for the first time.
You would be forgiven for thinking an establishment called Seamus O’donnells (lower case ‘d’, no apostrophe -’s') would be likely to regard itself an Irish-themed pub first and foremost, but in this case it sounds more like a catwalk timewarp of people in flared trousers, pedal pushers, horn-rimmed glasses and exaggerated shoulder pads.
This sign from the same pub at least remembers to include the ‘-ed’, but still can’t get it right. Oh dear.
