Mocking Poor Grammar
Since 2007
A noun that is formed from a verb and which describes an action. In English it ends in -ing, eg 'the baking of bread' and 'Smoking damages your health'.
Is the abuse of a foreign language in an English setting as unforgivable as abuse of the English language itself? This curmudgeon says “yes”.
Can you hear me at the the back? It’s Espresso. No X, capishe?
Italian speakers will either spot the irony or call me a hypocrite.
