One for the ladie’s, originally uploaded by GrammarBlog.

We don’t usually pick on punctuation miscreants in cases where the offender is not a native English speaker.

The French are naturally excluded from this lenience.

Jason writes,

Admittedly, the French tend to add apostrophes to anything and everything (like jean’s) and even spell sandwiches without an ‘e’, but this made me shudder.

I also like the idea that with an extra ‘d’ it could be a men-only event!

Indeed, I remember seeing a similar sign at "laddie’s", a gay night in Glasgow.

Heady days.
