The smudge is a common pitfall of using a highlighter pen to write notes. All the different widths of strokes during letter formation can a very confusing sensation for the author. I've tried it.

I suggest leaving a note back ordering that pink highlighter pens should not be used on notices for public display. Written with a pink highlighter, naturally.
